Face lift for Manchester canals

Weedfree Limited were chosen in 2007 by the Manchester City Centre Management Company (now Cityco), a public/private partnership involving the City Council and many other stakeholders, to improve the public amenity value of the city centre canal network by removing weeds and vegetation from the towpaths, basins, jettys and surrounding areas. Weedfree already carry out a wide range of weed control operations in central Manchester, including work on footpaths, housing areas, schools, parks and cemeteries for Manchester City Council, and contracts with housing associations and public and private landowners throughout the area. Following our successful completion of this contract last year, we have been re-awarded the maintenance weed control by Cityco for 2008.
