Waterways Weed Control
Weedfree are fully qualified and experienced in weed control and vegetation removal on waterways, rivers and drainage channels.
Seen here applying a herbicide treatment to a pumping station compound and to the associated drainage channels, our operators can use harnesses to access steep embankments or retaining walls safely, and can remove larger vegetation with strimmers, chainsaws and chippers where required.
All the herbicide treatments we use are fully approved by the Pesticides Safety Directorate for use next to water courses, and Environment Agency permission is always obtained where this is required.
Careful and considerate application by highly trained operatives ensures the smallest possible environmental impact, while at the same time ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vital flood defences.
Weedfree also specialise in the removal of invasive weeds of waterway margins such as Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Balsam and Giant Hogweed.
